Sergio Monsalve is the Co-Founder of the Entrepreneur in Residence Program and the author and Lecturer of the popular course "EDUC 295: Entrepreneurship & Innovation in Education Technology.” Sergio is Founding Partner at Roble Ventures (www.robleventures.com), which is an early stage technology venture capital fund focused on the future of human enablement technologies, including workplace productivity cloud software, remote work platforms, skills development technologies, edtech, and job-creating marketplaces. His whole focus at Roble is to enable entrepreneurs interested in helping all humans get ahead with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. Sergio started his venture career as a Partner at Norwest Venture Partners for 12 years he was an early investor and board member of 2 unicorns, including Udemy, and Adaptive Insights. At Roble, he has invested in dozens of companies and was an early investor in Kahoot! (IPO 2021) and Clerio (IPO 2022). Sergio has held various entrepreneurship and leadership roles in high-growth technology companies like eBay, Portal Software (IPO during tenure), as well various venture-backed startups he helped get off the ground as a founder or founding executive. He is on the Board of Trustees at Harvey Mudd College where he co-chairs the entrepreneurial initiatives committee. Sergio holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Sergio was born in Mexico and came to the United States when he was a teen.
